To simply be in the same room as you,
To be sitting by your side, smiling alongside you.
You have no idea how happy that would make me.
And I dream of the moment when we first meet,
The first time I’d be able to hold your hand,
And tell you that it’s so nice to finally meet you…
That’s all I think I would ever need.
I would never ask for more than you offered,
And I’d never tell you you’re going too slow.
Take your time, there is no rush.
Live your life and let it flow…
And the closer I am to you,
the stronger I feel for you.
And I hope that’s okay…
I hope this doesn’t ruin our friendship,
Telling you all of this, trusting you with my heart.
It takes a lot for someone to do this,
to turn their vulnerabilities into a kind of art,
beautiful art like you—And you really are.
I do wonder how you might feel about me,
But that doesn’t matter, necessarily.
I simply want you to smile, and to be happy,
And that’s where my intentions lie,
Never wanting to hurt you, or make you cry…
I just want you to smile,
Because that’ll make me smile,
And that will make us both happy.
